Billionaire Land-Grab Continues As Elite Prepare for Disaster

During the decline of the Roman Empire, in the late 3rd and into the 4th century, the rich and powerful moved out of the cities and bought up land in the rural countryside, anticipating the fall that they knew was coming. Now history repeats itself again.

Forbes magazine published an article in 2017 detailing the billionaires’ rush to buy up farmland and prepare for a cataclysm. That part of the article appears to be simply factual. The explanation of why the super-rich feel cataclysm is a near term high risk, and how such an event would change the world, seems purely speculative, but the land-grab and disaster preparedness moves among the elite are not speculation – they are happening now.

The figures in the article concerning the land-holdings by the corporate elite are now four years old – certainly they have bought up more land since then. Gates alone has purchased 240,000 acres across several states. This is the biggest land grab since the Land Enclosure Acts and the conquest of the Americas. The 1% are clearly preparing for something very, very big.
