Coronavirus: Key Facts

“Acting true to form as the US military-intelligence community propaganda agent it is, the Washington Post recently published an opinion piece asserting, “America Needs To Be on a War Footing.” In it, Danielle Allen asserts, “The appropriate analogy for this moment is Pearl Harbor… The country needs to transform to a war footing.”

With this invocation of Pearl Harbor, a representative of America’s warlords makes clear their objective to continue the assault on civil society initiated with the gross misrepresentations accompanying the events of Sept. 11, 2001. In 2000 many of the main players in President George W. Bush’s future war cabinet infamously invoked the image of Pearl Harbor as a trigger for war. In a notorious report, the neocon members of the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) helped chart out the road to 9/11 by conjuring up the need for a Pearl Harbor-like event. Such an event was declared necessary in order to mobilize US popular support for invasive warfare abroad, police state and surveillance state interventions at home.

….In the last 3 months 13 million people died worldwide of various ailments. We are told by official sources that just over 11,000 of these 13,000,000 deaths are due to coronavirus.”

If governments were seriously concerned with public health, the trillions of dollars a year given to the military-industrial-security complex (over $1 trillion a year), Big Oil subsidies ($5 trillion a year) and banker bailouts ($17 trillion since 2007, and rising) would instead be spent to eliminate poverty and hunger, and educate people on healthy diets – the number two and number one causes of death world-wide, resulting in more than 50,000 deaths per day.

11,000 deaths from coronavirus in three months represents a sliver of that daily death toll. Clearly, this is not about public health. This is about power. This is about control. A five year old could figure this out.

These are the clear facts, for those who might be interested in such a passe thing as, “reality”.

Time to wake the people.

The danger is real, but the people are afraid of the wrong things.

Slaughterhouse Now: Reflections on Huxley, authoritarianism, and the Brave New World being ushered in by a bug

I think of a dear friend’s response to my dinner invitation tonight – him saying (in the face of the “pandemic”) that he is generally staying home…. Frankly, like many people, he has lost his mind to the media-created hysteria, surrounding a virus that is still far less lethal than the common flu.
But the trouble is this. He is a typical, “informed”, liberal centrist (who thinks he’s highly aware of everything that matters, like most centrists do, though the reality is they are deeply indoctrinated, like Pavlov’s dogs). In other words, he is the norm. Now that is a truly terrifying thought.
“In the end, they will beg us to put them in chains.”
Paraphrasing Huxley, recounting the Grand Inquisitor.
Huxley was right. No big stick is needed to bring in a truly scientific fascism. More subtle means work better. The people will line up to be corralled, just like cattle led to the slaughter.
Let’s hope I am wrong. So far, the public response is almost as worrisome as the extremely dangerous authoritarian response by the elite. Not reassuring.
Restrictions on travel, restrictions on freedom of assembly, general fear-mongering, urging people to avoid social contact: all of this works well if your agenda is to divide and conquer, and prepare the people for the surrender of their freedom – for their own good, of course.
Mass house arrest, anyone?
It’s for your own protection.

(Why WordPress occasionally refuses to cooperate on formatting, I do not know; but my apologies for the oddities beyond my control. It is apparently a WordPress glitch. Hence the stars, to separate paragraphs. When in doubt, improvise. Good to remember.)
(At last count, the death toll globally from the coronavirus was 1/200th of the annual death toll from the flu. It barely registers above zero compared to the over 20,000 that die a day from poverty and hunger, or the more than 20,000 that die a day from obesity. So: Why the extreme authoritarian measures and media hysteria, in that case, people might want to ask.)
